Welcome to Madison Morgans
We are a husband and wife team operating our small Morgan breeding farm located in the post-oak savannah of south-east Texas. Our horses live in a natural herd setting, grazing on pastures dotted with mature oak trees and fish-stocked ponds. The limited size of our operation allows us to pay attention to details: We develop personal relationships with each of our horses, enabling each to broaden their own unique personalities. We take the time to study bloodlines in the selection of the stallions we breed to our mares, concentrating on ideal Morgan conformation and disposition.
Our goal is to breed Morgans that are not only exquisitely beautiful but also have substance for athleticism, disposition for intelligence, and personality for common sense and tractability. With this in mind, our foals will be family-friendly individuals, poised to excel in any sport discipline, be it dressage, endurance, eventing, driving, working with cows on the ranch or as a safe and sound trail mount. Their future is your choice!

We want to thank Vicki Bennett, formerly of HighGate Equestrian Center Star, with her identical brother, is a World Champion Preliminary With the acquisition of our new Pacific Dartmoor carriage, I am having such an incredible time driving Star at the 2010 Pine Hill Pleasure Driving Show and during last summer's driving camp. I love going through the water! I also rode Star in the BACH (Brazos Association for Classical Horsemanship) series of schooling dressage shows at Intro level. We won the Reserve Championship for 2010 and hope to compete at Training level in 2011.

Here is Morgan royalty in the flesh! You could be looking far and wide to find a more perfect Morgan specimen than this young gelding: “Bandit” is legendary Morgan quality; his archival quality pedigree comes from both his sire and dam: UVM Springfield, only thirteen generations from Justin Morgan, has 38 crosses to Artemisia, and Stony Hollow Wind Dancer, within eight generations, has six “golden crosses” to Bennington and Artemisia. With such an impeccable pedigree it’s no wonder that Bandit is unquestionably the ideal, yet classic, Morgan for today’s demanding sport disciplines. He has style and type; a beautifully refined head with small ears and large eyes, correctly set neck, strong back and a powerful rear end, with plenty of natural action! His attributes don’t stop there, however. Bandit has been imprinted at birth and is a people oriented young horse. He always comes to say “Hi!” and will just “hang out”, enjoying any attention and scratches. He loves being groomed and has superb ground manners, whether it’s the farrier or veterinarian working around him or just us. He ties/cross ties, clips and bathes, leads politely, lunges correctly, trailers calmly, and generally takes all new experiences in stride.
Bandit has matured into a stunning two year old! He has been professionally trained under the tutelage of Gene and Sonya Brown at Training Resources for in-hand showing. At Heritage Classic 2010, Bandit won the blue ribbon in English Pleasure In-Hand and placed second in 2 Year-Old and Under In-Hand. With his prestigious good looks, loving personality and the attention to detail in his training thus far, I see Bandit excelling as an English Pleasure mount or competing in Western Reining! By the end of the year he will start his drive training, so who knows?! Authentic, athletic, correct, loving: This is truly a horse of a lifetime!

After only 10 weeks of professional training with Gene and Sonya Brown at Training Resources, I showed Smoky at Heritage Classic 2010; he performed wonderfully and could not have behaved more maturely. As with all our foals, Smoky has been handled from birth and has a kind easy-going disposition, a willingness to learn and eye-catching color appeal. He ties/cross ties, leads and lunges properly, bathes and clips, loads and trailers willingly and is a gentleman with whomever is handling him, be it the family that he knows well or the veterinarian or farrier. If you are looking for a young horse with whom you will enjoy developing a close relationship and love to show off, end your search here with Smoky! Check out his videos on YouTube-in hand ,and YouTube-at liberty! In addition to his ideal Morgan conformation, Smoky has three correct gaits: Even cadenced walk with flexion, animated elastic balanced trot, and smooth easy going canter. He will have the presence, substance and intelligence to excel in any sport discipline, with excellent movement for a superb future in dressage, plus the perfect personality for a loving family horse. This winter he will start his drive training as we continue to develop his talents. Don’t let this one get away! Call/e-mail us for more photos and information on this truly remarkable young gelding.

“Cristal” is an exceptional combination of Morgan show and sport horse lineages. Her dam comes from a long line of Morgan show horses through her incredible sire, Thunderbay. Cristal’s sire is the last stallion son of Dr. Lowell Hughes’ great Wyoming Flyhawk. Caduceus Panache is successfully showing at second level dressage with his owner for Lewis Equine. This gorgeous dark bay filly carries on the Morgan tradition of beauty, a loving personality, and a future of outstanding versatility: As a two year old she spent three months at Training Resources in Sanger, Texas, learning to drive under the tutelage of Gene and Sonya Brown. Now as a three year old, she will be started under saddle by Barbara Richardson-Lewis at Lewis Equine, with our sights on her first ridden dressage show in June 2011.

Just take a look at this special boy’s pedigree and you will know why he is so unique and impressive! “Charlie’s” stunning color is a bonus to his classic Morgan good looks and temperament. He has given us so much joy playing and working with him since his birth, and watching him grow up. It is now someone else’s turn to appreciate him: Charlie has been sold and now makes his home
