Welcome to Madison Morgans

We are a husband and wife team operating our small Morgan breeding farm located in the post-oak savannah of south-east Texas. Our horses live in a natural herd setting, grazing on pastures dotted with mature oak trees and fish-stocked ponds. The limited size of our operation allows us to pay attention to details: We develop personal relationships with each of our horses, enabling each to broaden their own unique personalities. We take the time to study bloodlines in the selection of the stallions we breed to our mares, concentrating on ideal Morgan conformation and disposition.

Our goal is to breed Morgans that are not only exquisitely beautiful but also have substance for athleticism, disposition for intelligence, and personality for common sense and tractability. With this in mind, our foals will be family-friendly individuals, poised to excel in any sport discipline, be it dressage, endurance, eventing, driving, working with cows on the ranch or as a safe and sound trail mount. Their future is your choice!

“Gabby”, our Beamington great granddaughter, exudes Morgan
femininity with her beautiful head, expressive eye, full mane and tail, and
show-quality conformation. She is also as sweet as they come,
only wanting to please. Gabby was shown successfully at Wheat State Regional
as a yearling and two-year old, winning her age group for mares,
junior mares and reserve mare. Through her sire,
Thunderbay,
holder of 23 World and Grand National titles, the epitome of Morgan type,
character, versatility and longevity, Gabby goes back to such greats as
The Airacobra, Jenney Lake, Lippitt Miss Nekomia and Flyhawk.
Her bottom side reads like a veritable “who’s who” of the Morgan world:
UVM Highlight, Sealect of Wind-Crest,
Orcland Leader and Upwey Ben Don. In all, within eight generations,
Gabby has six “golden crosses” to Bennington and Artemisia.

Gabby has accomplished her broodmare duties all the while continuing to be my pleasure riding horse and teacher to the younger members of our family. Check out all her ideal, yet truly special, Morgan babies under our foal heading:

Phaon Pharms Annie’s Song

Palomino, connected star, strip, snip, both hind pasterns, 15.2 hands

AMHA # 0151074

“Annie” is a large mare with substance and intelligence to do the job no
matter what it happens to be. She has a nice top line, well-sloped shoulders
and properly angled hips for strong impulsion. Annie also has personality to spare,
what a “people horse”! She is the first one to come looking for attention or cookies then will give “kisses” in return.

Annie’s sire,MEMC Tequila Cuervo , is Foundation bred by the Triple S breeding
program in South Dakota . He comes by his strong Morgan heritage through multiple
crosses to Red Correll, Bennington and Senator Graham . The bloodlines in Annie’s dam’s pedigree are heavily Lippitt with many crosses to the most highly regarded Morgan sires of modern times: John A Darling, Ashbrook, Bennington and Jubilee King, with a splash of Waseeka’s Nocturne and Upwey Ben Don.

This spring Annie had her first foal who promises to have his dam’s bone and incredible people personality, while cashing in on his sire’s presence and temperament. Take a look at “Smoky’s” pictures under our foal heading; we think you will find them enjoyable!

We want to thank Vicki Bennett, formerly of HighGate Equestrian Center
in Rockwall, Texas for giving us the opportunity to own this wonderful
mare! “Star” is Midwest Western Working bred: Virtually her entire
pedigree traces directly back to Black Hawk, through multiple crosses to
Dude de Jarnette and through Bennington, Captain Red and Archy Hudson.

Star, with her identical brother, is a World Champion Preliminary
Dressage Multiples Champion, having been shown at Morgan Grand
Nationals in 2000 and Combined Driving Events in pairs competition at
the CAI Live Oak in 2001. In addition to her driving career, Star has had
typy sport horse foals by Caduceus Panache and Rimlee Koloper (Rimloo Black
Prince x Tetonia Princess). As she begins a new phase of her life
with us, she will be back in front of the driving carriage teaching me
the exciting art of carriage driving. Our plans are also to breed her to add to
our small crop of future Morgan sport horses. We will keep you posted on
the anticipated accomplishments of this gorgeous mare.

In November 2008, we competed at Haven Hill Driving Trials in Navasota, Texas, where we place second in our very first outing. Star was a star and we had a blast!

You could be looking far and wide to find a more perfect Morgan specimen than this young colt. Not only is his pedigree impeccable but he exemplifies the classic and ideal Morgan both in body and mind. “Bandit” has been imprinted from birth and loves to be around humans. His exuberance for life is a joy to watch as he runs, stops, spins and turns in his playfulness, foretelling of great things in his future!

When we bred Gabby to UVM Springfield my vision was what this colt embodies~a beautiful head, high-set neck and a powerful rear end! We hit the jackpot with this cross and are very proud of Bandit and excited about watching him grow up.

We have plenty of additional pictures to share. Contact us for more information about purchasing his amazing colt.

Smoky Black Colt

AMHA # raf

This long anticipated foal is truly that special Morgan with an incredible personality, willingness to learn and the looks that will turn heads! As with all our foals, “Smoky” has been handled from birth and is a people horse like his dam. Smoky’s sire has an impressive show resume and a pedigree that could not be more star-studded. “Ty” has surely passed on his beauty, versatility and athleticism to his big, bold colt.

In addition to all that, Smoky will be UC Davis color tested for smoky black. Look at the palomino coloring inside his ears! He also has an upside-down heart shaped snip, 2 white pasterns and 1 white coronet.

Enquiries welcomed. Contact us for more pics/video/info on this showy colt that will be sure to impress whether in the show ring, breeding shed or out on the trails.

“Cristal” has taken the best of both her sire and dam and improved on it: She has a marvelously sloped shoulder and elegant up-right neck; her strong, correct back and thigh promises powerful ground-covering strides. We believe that Cristal has the bone and eventual size required for today’s demanding sport disciplines.

Cristal continues to bring us joy as we watch her grow into the lovely young lady that we anticipated. She is playful, loving to be with us; she is full of energy and learns quickly. She is now in training for her show ring debut. Enquiries welcomed! We have plenty of additional photos/video/info to share.

Just take a look at this special boy’s pedigree and you will know why he is so unique and impressive! “Charlie’s” stunning color is a bonus to his classic Morgan good looks and temperament.
